Melissa Winter, founder of Indigo Artbox, learned how to make art that was inspired by art history when she was growing up from her mother, professional artist, Joan Winter. During the summers, Melissa and the other kids in the neighborhood would learn about art as Joan taught simple art projects that related to art history and combined projects with visits to local museums. 

Melissa was inspired to create Indigo Artbox to bring the simple joy of making art into homes, so that adults as well as children could find a way to express their creativity and relax through art.
